Chevalier Machinery, Santa Fe Springs, CA, will introduce a new traveling column boring mill and three semi-automatic surface grinding models in September at IMTS. The 5-axis boring mill, model FBB-110L, expands travels over the previous model in the X and Y axes up to 120 inches and 83 inches, respectively. The Caterpillar #50 taper spindle with 19.7 inches of W-axis travel features a 4.3 inch diameter bar with 35 horse power for heavy milling operations.
The already extensive line of Chevalier surface, cylindrical, and grinding center machines grows further with the addition of three semi-automatic 3-axis surface grinders in their well-known FSG series. Though simple to operate, the conversational PLC control incorporates many useful grinding cycles that make the production of high-quality parts routine. The optional over-the-wheel dresser has also been optimized through built-in cycles that make quick work of grinding accurate parts. With grinding length and width capacities up to 80 inches by 24 inches, respectively, the FSG Series covers a wide range of applications.
