Pilsen Imports, Inc., Cincinnati, OH is the exclusive importer of Reiden Technik AG machining centers from Reiden, Switzerland. This small, vertically integrated company employs approximately 110 people, builds and assembles their own products, including the machine control software, and is expert in larger horizontal/vertical combination 4- and 5-axis gantry and stationary column machining centers.
The RX Series implements the bridge frame style construction in order to increase rigidity and envelope without increasing the footprint. The unusual spindle design enables full swivel to facilitate either vertical or horizontal orientation, but also is capable of infinite motion along the A axis enabling the tool to travel at any point from less than 0 to 90 degrees, plus.
The BFR Series has three versions with X-axis table travel up to 157”. The spindle, like the design of the RX series can also swivel from vertical to horizontal, but is actually only a positioning axis in increments of 2.5 or 15 degrees. The Y axis travel is generated via a generously appointed ram-style beam with hardened and ground ways. Since the Y axis beam is capable of extending considerably beyond the headstock housing, clearance for odd angles and deep hole drilling are more readily accommodated. And compensation during conditions of physical deflection is accomplish using electric and hydraulic control. Reiden assures a maximum deviation of +/- 0.010mm over the full stroke (1200mm) of the Y axis.
