Methods Machine Tools, of Sudbury, MA has introduced an extensive line of Kiwa horizontal machining centers. The KHM Series expands the Kiwa line from a primarily small envelope HMC offering. The KMH-300, 500, 630, 800, 1000, and 1250 models cover part sizes from approximately an 18” cube up to a 78” cube and ranging from 15 HP to 35 HP. Until now, the Kiwa line of vertical and horizontal machining centers, has long been known for its smaller part capabilities.
All models in the series include Roller Guide Ways for higher rapid rates. Like the smaller machines in the line, however, all models are designed with ballscrews that are thermally stabilized with coolant through. Every model includes a 4th axis rotary table and the smaller models are standard with a 2-pallet changer system. Larger models are equipped with the BIG-Plus 50 Taper spindle for increased accuracy and stability. The Fanuc 0i-MD is standard on all models, with some models offering optional controls.
