Mitsui Seiki HU63EX
Mitsui Seiki refers to the HU63EX as a "Mother Machine." This connotes that long-termaccuracy is an essential goal in its design, for the most precise components that are used in other machine tools are capable of being machined to exacting standards. To that end hand scraping is essential and imployed on all of the most critical components, such as box way surfaces and ball screw and spindle. As result parallelism, squareness and straigtness are maintained optimally and for a long period of time. The bed of the machine utitlizes 3-point support to insure perfect alignmenteven as the foundation under the machine fluctuates. Ball screws are positioned to the center of the component it drives thereby maintaining the most stable and balanced condition. Even though the slide ways are all hand scraped, low pressure air is introduced between the way and mating surface of the column. This technique has the effect of further reducing friction and load on the way surface.
