DYNOMAX as a Company

DYNOMAX started business in 1986 providing research & development, engineering, and building of proprietary metal cutting machining systems. Our specialized vertical machining centers are in private operation in four (4) Microway plants located in the US, UK, and Singapore. Microway manufactures high performance communication connectivity devices for the Aerospace, Defense, and Communication Industries.

These metal milling machines, which DYNOMAX designed and built (we refer to as DYNOMILLS), incorporate state of the art machine tool control and construction techniques. This experience and dedication to precision construction is now concentrated on design, build, repair, and enhancement of Superprecison Modular Spindle Systems.

DYNOMAX as a Spindle Company

Since 1986, we have been working with various spindle manufacturers to develop higher performance spindles for our applications. Our research exposed new ideas and concepts that we felt could be built into new or retrofitted spindle systems that will improve the quality, performance, and productivity of machine and process systems. We have now focused our efforts in this area, and have restructured DYNOMAX to concentrate on Superprecision Modular Spindle Systems.

Our main spindle facility is located north of Chicago, with a second facility near Cincinnati. We also maintain an engineering office in Detroit. Our key people are experienced and have many years of successes with various precision spindle systems in most industries and applications:

DYNOMAX Facilities

Our two spindle facilities, with a combined size of 20,000 sq.ft., are near duplicate of each other in both size and equipment.

Minimum of 1,500 sq.ft. clean room environment for metrology and precision test run off
Test cells can be customized for specific run off specifications
Precision balancing ( Balance Technology) with electronic database documentation
Vibration analyzing ( IRD DataPac 1500) for post assembly and field analysis
Precision Grind and Boring capabilities for new, repair, and spindle enhancements

-Management of application review, spindle design, manufacturing, and field installation for over 100 major automotive machine tool installations
-Designed and developed first high-speed ( 200 HP @ 8,000 rpm) spindle to investigate tooling performance on milling and boring of cast iron head and cylinder blocks.
-Developed many firsts in machine tool spindle and machine systems, some of which are patented.
-Designed modular spindle system, which is reconfigurable for speeds and cutting loads.
