The FEELER VMX-580APC and VMX-820APC vertical machining centers combine high-speed, precision machining with an integrated automatic pallet changer (APC) to maximize spindle utilization and productivity. By allowing operators or automation systems to load, unload, inspect, or fixture components on one pallet while machining continues on the other, these machines significantly reduce non-cutting time and are particularly well suited for high-volume production, unattended machining, and flexible manufacturing environments. The VMX-580APC features a fast 6-second pallet change, while the larger VMX-820APC provides additional machining capacity with 820 mm X-axis travel, 520 mm Y-axis travel, 505 mm Z-axis travel, and a 700 × 500 mm pallet, making it an excellent choice for larger components and fixtures. Both models feature a 12,000-rpm direct-drive No. 40 taper spindle, high-speed servo systems, pre-tensioned ballscrews, and roller-type linear guideways engineered to deliver an effective combination of speed, rigidity, positioning accuracy, and long-term stability. The machines utilize a hydraulic rotary pallet-changing mechanism designed for fast, stable, and reliable pallet exchange, while FEELER’s structurally optimized cast-iron construction and Finite Element Analysis help provide the rigidity and vibration resistance required for consistent production machining. FEELER also subjects its automatic tool changer designs to one million continuous test cycles to validate durability and operational reliability. With available probing, linear scales, chip-management systems, thermal compensation, and automation integration, the VMX-580APC and VMX-820APC provide manufacturers with a compact, automation-ready solution for increasing spindle uptime, reducing labor intervention, and lowering cost per part while maintaining consistent machining quality.
