EMAG VL 4 DUO line
The VL 4 CNC turning center with integrated pick-up automation is a vertical turning center for productive manufacturing of chucked parts up to 200 mm in diameter, e.g. flange parts. The machining area of the CNC turning center is easy to access for fast tooling times, and increasing the availability of the turning center significantly. The integrated automation of the CNC turning center, including the pick-up spindle and the part storage unit for blanks and finished parts up to 200 mm in diameter, allows easy interlinking with the TrackMotion automation system. The result is a highly flexible, productive and modular manufacturing system for two operations – the VL 4 DUO line. Control of the machine and the automation system is managed by a FANUC or Siemens control unit. The TrackMotion automation system runs directly behind the machining areas of the CNC turning centers, thus permitting the rapid transport of parts . The TransLift with CNC grippe r of the TrackMotion automation system takes over the role of conveyor belts, lifting stations and flip-over units, which illustrates the high flexibility of the entire manufacturing system. The addition of a part storage unit for blanks and finished parts allows for operation with minimal staff, and enhances the high performance in medium and high-volume production.
