L&L Machinery LFM-1400

The LFM-Series design is focused on machining oversized work pieces. The bed is over 45” wide and uses 3 V-ways, 1 flat ways, and 1 slant ways to support both carriage and tailstock. The bed casting is one piece Meehanite® casting that is completely stressed relieved, which eliminates distortion of casting. The LFM-Series incorporates a 4-step gearbox enclosed by solid box construction casting to enhance rigidity for heavy cutting applications. The headstock gears and bearings are lubricated automatically to ensure stability in longoperating hours. The spindle is supported by 4 sets of heavy duty roller bearing to handle heavy part and load. The carriage is supported by 3 hardened V ways, 1 flat ways and 1 slant ways, while the cross slide is supported by 2 extra wide hardened and ground boxed ways to support heavy turning operations. Turcite-B lining are applied to all slideways to eliminate stick and slip caused by friction. The LFM-Series is fitted with the largest H4-45 0 turret possible to handle the heaviescutting requirements. The servo driven turret offers quick and precise indexing of the tools and tool change can be completed within 3 seconds in any position. The tailstock uses extra rigid tailstock body with 10” giant quill that offers excellent load capacity and support. The tailstock is moveable with electrically through rack & pinion or adjusted manually as well. The quill travels maximum 10” with a MT#6 center.
