Heavy Duty Vertical Turning and Boring Center


-This heavy duty Vertical Turning and Boring Center not only provides you with all of massive torque and rigidity, but it also has the cutting flexibility to carry out toughest turning and milling job on very large or asymmetrical work pieces. 

-The maximum turning diameter is up to 98.43" (2,500 mm) and loading weight is up to 46,297 lbs. (21,000 kgs). 

-The one-piece column, made of cast iron Meehanite with squared structure and ribs inside for stiffness, provides optimum stability and rigidity. 

-The special design of the optional C-axis and live tooling allows for vertical lathe cutting operations such as milling, drilling and grinding. The VTBC-R also comes with an automatic tool changer (ATC). The RAM, made of high-quality steel alloy with a high-torque octagonal structure is perfect to support the extreme cutting forces of internal and external diameters as well as achieving tight tolerances.

-The work table is equipped with hydrostatic rollers and dual-type roller bearings in order to increase the load capacity, assure precision and surface finish. The X-axis, with an inclined squared rail design, can counterbalance the Z-axis frontal tilting.

-The class 3 ball screw coupling with direct drive FANUC servo motor provides precision movement. The ball screw is pre-tensioned, and the preloaded bearings are on all axes to minimize thermal distortion. The X and Z axis slide ways are hand scraped with unique MOGLICE coated material for perfect alignment and friction-free movement. 
This unique MOGLICE coating material provides less than a quarter of the friction in comparison to the traditional Turcite B coating material. Therefore, it eliminates backlash and minimizes wear problems that may occur in traditional box-ways machines as well as maintains long term accuracy.

-The height of the cross rail is adjustable according to different geometric parts’ dimensions. The total 31.50" (800 mm) stroke of rail travel is evenly divided by 5 positions. Every position is locked by four strong independent hydraulic clamping cylinders plus large taper lock pins. It strengthens the rigidity of the cross rail and also provides excellent positioning as well as repeatability.

-The 15° slant bed design incorporated into both the VTBC-R63 and VTBC-R78 increases the supporting surface area and increases the rigidity of the machine.

-This revolutionary octagon RAM design provides excellent straightness and thermal expansion control. From our experience, this special octagon RAM provides superior damping characteristics, excellent thermal expansion control, and stronger rigidity than the traditional square RAM.
