The Star Cutter UTG Series Universal Tool Grinder delivers precision and flexibility across an exceptionally broad range of cutting tool applications. With capacity for diameters from 3 mm (1/8") to 305 mm (12") and tool lengths up to 3200 mm between centers, the UTG Series supports everything from small specialty tools to large production components.
Equipped with a FANUC 6-axis CNC control and digital servo motors, the UTG Series provides precise, repeatable motion control across complex grinding operations. A dual-probe system automatically sets both the workpiece and grinding wheel, reducing setup time and improving consistency. Glass scales on all linear axes ensure maximum positioning accuracy.
Onboard programmable wheel truing maintains wheel geometry and surface quality, while standard and custom software packages support a wide range of broach, hob, cutter, and mill applications. Configurable with either a fixed A-axis headstock and movable tailstock or a movable A-axis headstock, the UTG Series adapts to long tool requirements up to 3200 mm.
