The Star Cutter FLX Carbide Tool Grinder is engineered to deliver high-volume performance in a compact, right-sized footprint. Designed to grind both small and large diameter tools, with a sweet spot around 9" length and 1" diameter, the FLX raises productivity while maximizing valuable shop floor space.
The FLX is powered by the FlexiumPro® CNC control, a next-generation platform capable of processing up to 10 times faster than previous generations. With advanced 3D simulation, extensive probing cycles, in-process wheel dressing, and adaptive grinding capability, the FLX optimizes efficiency while maintaining tight tolerances in demanding environments.
Its modular architecture allows automation to be added easily in the field, supporting configurations of 5, 10, or 15 wheel-pack stations and production of more than 1,100 tools in the 3–7 mm range before unloading. Integrated coolant control, oil-lubricated carriage systems, and dual spindle options ensure reliable accuracy, extended service life, and consistent output—even in high-production applications.
